The dimensioning of overhead power lines
The planning of overhead lines begins with a survey of the terrain on which the line will run. A route selection law is then drawn up, which goes through the approval procedure with the responsible municipal authorities, the geodetic and engineering analysis and the topographical plan showing all buildings and utilities.

The project of cable lines is carried out similarly as the project of overhead lines - it begins with surveying of the area on which the designed line will run, then the action of selection of a route is carried out, which is a coordination procedure in corresponding municipal authorities, then the geodetic analysis is carried out and the engineering topographical plan with instructions of all constructions and engineering communications is made.

Designing of power lines is one of the most important stages of construction of the future electric network, on which all the basic technical and economic characteristics of the designed line are placed in the course of obtaining information and carrying out the necessary calculations according to the operational specifications and technical documentation.
What works are carried out during the construction of the project
Before starting work on designing overhead power lines, the employees of the designing organization will provisionally define with the customer the line on which the line will run (its proximity to inhabited areas, the presence of railways, motorways, communication objects, vegetation, etc.).
The next stage of the design of overhead lines is the preliminary design survey, during which the engineers collect all necessary information for the work.
The obtained information is analyzed and systematized, and an application for technical specifications for the construction of overhead lines is prepared. After the technical specifications are issued, the specifications for the design of overhead lines with a certain maximum permissible power (kW) are prepared.
The next stage of works after designing of overhead lines is the development of design documentation, which, based on confirmed norms of construction and technical rules and standards, takes into account many factors:
The project documentation approved by the Customer and agreed with the power supply company must be specified during the assembly phase when preparing the work documentation for which the construction and assembly works are to be carried out.
After all the necessary works provided for in the project have been carried out, commissioning is carried out with the necessary documentary support.
Engineering and calculation of transformer stations
Transformer stations - power engineering equipment needed for the power supply of equipment for various purposes. They serve both as receivers and as distributors of electrical energy. Transformer stations are subject to increased requirements for electrical safety and reliability of power supply to the equipment. The serviceability of the expensive equipment depends on how correctly the protection and automation in the substation itself, competently selected switching and distribution equipment, is set up. Therefore, the importance of planning substations can hardly be overestimated.
